Hey Everyone,
I apologize but this is going to be short because I have my eye on some amazing food here in the South African mall. Today is our first off day and we have the morning to hang out here... then we are going to do a youth program tonight which I am very excited about. South Africa has been amazing and the Lord has blessed us so much! I can't begin to tell you how spoiled we are (in a good way). We have had wonderful teaching and have had some great times of ministry! I worked in a township called Mamelodi, which has over a million people. It is indescribable... I don't have any pictures but it is overwhelming. We worked with a ministry there and got to love on and talk to the children. A young girl (12-13) named Octavia taught me a lot. We had taught the story of Peter walking on water, and later I asked her if it was ever hard for her to have faith in God. And she said, "No!" and kept coloring. I said that sometimes it was hard for me and she couldn't believe it. I asked her when was the last time she needed a lot of faith and she replied, "1 o'clock". Thinking something didn't translate... I asked her to expand. She then told me her father and uncle had been in a car crash but that they were o.k. This is a girl who lives in an area with extreme poverty, violence, abuse, neglect, and which can seem hopeless. BUT she has faith, and trusts God. These are the people I am getting to know! I am blessed! I would love to tell more, but for now that will have to do. Tomorrow we leave for Swaziland for at least a week, and I am excited to return there! God is good, and I am learning so much! Please continue to pray for all of us! The Africa team and the J'bay team are still together and we could all use your prayers! Pray for unity, discernment, protection, and power! The Lord has mighty things planned, and I can't wait to be able to share more stories! Also I ask for your prayers as all on the Africa team start trying to discern which location to spend time with in the spring! I love you all and miss you! Please send me your updates and I will try to answer questions once a week! Sorry for any poor spelling or if this doesn't make sense, but I wanted to send a brief update!
Blessings,
Carrie Ingram (Jaboliwe)
