I am so excited to start this week! I am finally settled into a few internships, and have a peace about where I am. I feel that the Lord has really provided for where He would have me serve. I praise Him for His blessings and provision, and am continually astounded by the way He moves! Nothing is too big for my God, and nothing is to small for Him! So here is what my weeks will look like:
Monday: An "off" day, a day of rest and communication.
Tuesday: 8-1:30 I will work with Dr. Pons at an eye clinic, helping out at St. Theresa's Clinic which is understaffed and serves the poor.
2-5: I will work with Teresa, a nurse with Children's Cup, at their care point clinic. I get there a little early and get to love on the kids at the care point and get to know them and encourage them. I am hoping to be able to develop good relationships with them and disciple them for a little while.
Wednesday: 8-2 I will be teaching/helping in a 4th grade classroom for a school on my street. I am working with a good teacher who has two classes of about 40 + students. This school is unique in that many of the kids are orphaned or underprivileged, but they also test rigorously to get into this school, and so all these kids are very smart and pretty well behaved. If you want to know more about this school, look at Chelsea Geyer's blog from my team, she teaches there everyday.
Thursday: 8-1:30 I will be back at St. Theresa's clinic gathering data for Dr. Pons, so that he can evaluate the clinic and see areas that need improvement and components that are working well. I will also be around the staff and getting to know all those who are working there.
2-5: Back at the Children's Cup Clinic.
Friday: 8-2 Another day at School.
Saturday: We do ministry together as a family. This changes, but for the past two weeks we have been visiting patients at the hospital.
Sunday: 10:30 I go to church at the Mbabane Chapel. Then the evening activities vary.
This is the basis of my time here. I have also made some friends at a local market and am trying to find some time to spend with them.
Please keep these ministries in your prayers, and pray that God will open up relationships and conversations to be able to spread His Good News and His love and truth. Many if not all of the Swazi people have heard of Jesus, and many believe in Him to some extent, but this nation needs truth, freedom from sin, and discipleship. Thanks for your prayers!
