Hi Everyone,

I never know exactly how to introduce myself, where to begin, so first let me start with the boring statistics. I am 20 years old (born 8/18/86), I am a senior (with at least 1 1/2 years of school left ?) at Auburn University and am majoring in Human Development and Family Studies. I hope to go on to medical school. I have lived in Auburn, AL, most of my life (since I was five). I am the daughter of Eddie and Kathleen Ingram, and the little sister of Adam. Right now I am in summer classes and am working at a Day Care. I also go to Trinity United Methodist Church in Opelika, AL.

I am on the Africa FYM team, and am so excited about this chance to serve! I have a passion for African people! I don't know where it came from, but I have been fascinated by the continent since I was a little kid. This will be my third AIM trip: Ambassador trip to India in the summer of 04, and Real Life trip to Swaziland in the summer of 05. I didn't expect God to call me back to the mission field before medical school, but here I am! I feel called to be a missionary doctor, and am excited to see where He takes me!

A few things to know about me: I have grown up with health problems, they are under control for the moment, but I have lived with fibromyalgia like pain, and a heart condition that sometimes causes my heart to race and my blood pressure to fall. So if you are on my team... just make sure I stay hydrated! But Praise God, he has taught me so much through these trials, and has always given me health for His calling!

I just asked a friend who I lived with in Swaziland, what I should tell my teammates, and she quickly replied, that I sleep talk. All of my friends have experienced this at some point. I will even argue with you that I am not asleep. Sometimes I tell you very strange things, and other times I will just have a conversation with you. So, get ready! I wish I didn't wake people up, but I can't make any promises!

I love people, I love diversity, I love to be challenged, and to support others in their pursuit of God! I love to pray and I feel called to be an encourager.

I am pretty open, if you want to know something, just ask. I don't typically spill everything out without prompting, but enjoy conversations that lead into getting to know the heart of a person. I deeply value genuine relationships, but getting to know me takes time.

Random information: I am a dork. I'm a morning person. I love to drive with the windows down, and sing loud to the radio (or just make up songs and sing in the kitchen). I used to be a cheerleader and therefore can get excited about almost anything. I love football (War Eagle) and Sweet Tea. I love children and old people and everything in between. I adore animals! I enjoy getting dressed up, but going a week without showers is also pretty fun (just tell me if I smell). Camping and watching the stars is such a blessing. I am fascinated by medicine but hate teeth (go figure)!  There is so much more, but this is a glimpse into who I am. I also talk very fast (even though I am from Alabama) so just tell me to slow down if I get overwhelming!

God is the love of my life, and I am daily in awe of his splendor! My favorite Bible Story is 2 Kings 6:8-23.

I can't wait to get to know all of you!

by grace,

Carrie
